VIPD Investigates Body Found Near Profit Hills on St. Croix

ST. CROIX — Virgin Islands police are investigating after a man was found dead Tuesday evening near the Profit Hills community, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
VIPD said the Criminal Investigation Bureau received a report at about 7:53 p.m. June 16 from a concerned citizen about a possible body in the area.
Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Bureau and members of the Special Operations Bureau checked the area and found a male lying on the ground in a heavily vegetated area north of Profit Hills. Police said the man appeared to have sustained several gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and confirmed the man had no vital signs. VIPD said next of kin identified him as 20-year-old Amani Daley.
