Police Search for Suspect After Two Shot at Lorraine Village

ST. CROIX — Police are searching for a 22-year-old suspect after two people were shot Monday morning at Lorraine Village, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
The St. Croix 911 Emergency Call Center received a report at 8:48 a.m. June 29 that a man and woman had been shot multiple times at Lorraine Village. VIPD and Emergency Medical Services responded, and both victims were taken by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital, where police said they remained in stable condition.
VIPD identified the suspect as Janigh Gonsalves, 22. Police described him as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 125 pounds, with a light complexion, black twisted hair, brown eyes and a birthmark on his chest. Investigators said he is known to frequent Lorraine Village, Aureo Diaz and Grove Place. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
