Music teams planning to put releases forward for the 2027 Grammys are heading toward their first hard deadline. The Recording Academy says its Online Entry Process closes Friday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. Pacific time, or 9 p.m. Eastern time.

That deadline comes one week before the product eligibility period ends on Aug. 28. The Academy says eligible recordings and works must have been commercially released between Aug. 31, 2025, and Aug. 28, 2026, and remain available to the public through the final voting deadline.

Only Recording Academy Voting and Professional Members, along with registered media companies, can submit material. New media companies have until Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. Pacific time to register. The Academy says it can take two to three days to review a registration, which makes this a deadline worth handling early rather than at the last minute.

The Academy says its awards staff reviews entries for eligibility before voting begins. First-round voting determines nominees in most categories, and final-round voting decides the winners. The 2027 Grammy Awards are scheduled for Feb. 7 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with ABC, Disney+ and Hulu carrying the ceremony.
