Whitney Houston’s No. 1 hits return in WH1TNEY collection

Whitney Houston’s 11 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles are back in one place on WH1TNEY, a collection released Friday.
According to The Associated Press, the release arrives during a weekend of birthday tributes for Houston, who would have turned 63 on Sunday. Her estate is also holding its fifth annual Whitney Houston Legacy of Love gala Saturday night.
Mattel is set to release Houston’s first Barbie on Sunday. The doll draws on the look she wore in the 1987 video for “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” Pat Houston, executor of the singer’s estate and her sister-in-law, told AP.
Pat Houston also said the estate is weighing future projects carefully. She did not announce a biopic, but said the team does not want to put out more material without a clear purpose. For now, the new collection puts the chart-toppers, including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” back at the center of the conversation.
