Myla Hadley will represent North Carolina at this month’s Miss USA pageant after organizers ended Brittany Boltinhouse’s reign as Miss North Carolina USA.

A Blaize Productions, which organizes the state pageant, said it made the decision after reviewing recently surfaced information. The organization did not disclose what it found. Miss USA president Thom Brodeur said in a separate statement that the organization does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia or language that strips people of their dignity.

Boltinhouse, 27, won the state title in June and was preparing for the national competition in Miami. Hadley, the runner-up, said she had been preparing to compete at Miss USA since her first appearance with the organization. The national winner will go on to represent the United States at Miss Universe in November.
