St. Croix man charged after officer assaulted, VIPD says

ST. CROIX — A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery after an officer was struck with an object, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
VIPD identified the suspect as Jorge Ramos Jr. Police said the incident occurred about 2:50 p.m. Aug. 2, when an object thrown by Ramos struck an officer in the left calf.
Police said bail was set at $1,005 and posted. Ramos was released to a relative pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
